Along the secondary road between Andance and Annonay (Ardeche Verte - south France), at the village of Saint Etienne de Valoux, the sign "Thorrenc" invites you to turn into another world. A narrow road snakes along the mountain’s flank through woods for three kilometers.
And then – the enchanting and protected world of an "ardechois" village appears out of history, still hanging onto the rock on which, and of which, it is built. Along the winding road, you have already seen the 12th century partly-restored castle framed by the valley. A stone bridge, under which a stream sings discreetly, faces the Auberge Hotel’s entrance.
The hotel itself is also a kind of little castle, leaning against the mountain with its three levels of rooms and garden terraces.
