Lyon & surroundings in north Ardeche

Daffodils on the Ardeche plateauAll around, the Ardeche’s nature offers all sort of temptations: climbing, jaunts by foot or horse.

Here, culture is never far from the nature. Musee des Mariniers (Serrieres), Musee de l’Alambic (Saint Desirat) or Musee de la Papeterie (Annonay). We can cross the Rhone at Andance, on one of the oldest suspension bridge of France. Meditate in the beautiful Romanesque church of Champagne. Visit the wild animals of the safari park of Peaugres.

Dream you are floating in the sky of the high Vivarais mountains where the hot air baloon was invented by the de Mongolfier brothers in 1783. Or, even, give oneself an "air baptism" in the care of a local aeronaut. Or, why not visit the cellars of the winemakers dotted around the hills to the south in the trail of the best Cotes-du-Rhones – Saint Joseph, Hermitage and Crozes-Hermitage producers?

It sounds like a cliché, but: Thorrenc, once known, cannot be forgotten.
